Synopsis
Because the 2007 Booster Gold series is fundamentally about time travel, Booster accidentally gets pulled backwards through a temporal rift and strands himself on the active, muddy battlefields of World War I Europe in 1916. While dodging artillery and enemy aircraft, he comes face-to-face with the historical Rittmeister Hans von Hammer (Enemy Ace), piloting his iconic crimson Fokker triplane. Booster shoots the engine of Hans von Hammer's plane to save an Allied pilot. After landing, a standoff ensues and both Booster and an American soldier are captured by German forces. Consistent with Enemy Ace's legendary, rigid code of military honor, Hans von Hammer grows deeply sickened by the brutal torture methods his fellow German officers inflict upon the prisoners and secretly turns against his own side to smuggle a vital temporal artifact (the Time Knife) to Booster, allowing them to escape the prison camp.
