Synopsis
Published in Bussum, Netherlands by Classics Nederland, this rare early-1970s translation compilation stands as an essential cross-continuity tracking target for international completions. The issue features a beautifully crisp localization of Neal Adams and Dick Giordano's legendary American cover art. The composition dramatically depicts Batman swinging over the wing of a Sopwith Camel fighter plane directly into the line of fire of a pilot wearing Hans von Hammer's distinct, fur-lined leather headgear and iron cross flight markings.
Collector Notes
An exceptionally unique Dutch translation artifact that translates the complete Denny O'Neil script and Neal Adams line art with high fidelity. The non-glossy newsprint pages apply a deep, high-saturation color palette typical of vintage European comic albums, emphasizing the dramatic crimson hues of the ghost plane. Individual localization and design staff credits were omitted from the printing run, with all translation and script adaptation tasks executed anonymously by the in-house text editorial team of the Classics Nederland Studio.
