This classic tale tracks Hans von Hammer's agonizing psychological exhaustion as the absolute isolation of command, the unending slaughter in the skies, and the relentless ghosts of his fallen enemies push him to his emotional breaking point.
The final Enemy Ace reprint in the Sgt. Rock anthology run, and fittingly a return to the very beginning: the debut appearance from Showcase #57 (1965). The series would end two issues later with #21 in early 1992, closing the book on DC's traditional war comics line.
