Synopsis

The comic is a darkly comedic, out-of-continuity satire highlighting the destructive nature of all-powerful fanboy mentalities. The plot begins in a classic Silver Age setting where Superman and Batman successfully apprehend Lex Luthor and the Joker. Suddenly, the fifth-dimensional imps Mister Mxyzptlk and Bat-Mite arrive and argue over which superhero is superior, escalating into a violent magical duel. In their petty crossfire, the imps accidentally slaughter Batman, Superman, and Robin, then begin reality-hopping to find other universes, systematically destroying each one. During their cosmic rampage, they shred through DC's historical eras, triggering a brief timeline-shattering glimpse that showcases Enemy Ace (Hans von Hammer) on Page 23 alongside Sgt. Rock, Tomahawk, Miss Liberty, and Amethyst.

Collector Notes

An Elseworlds-style one-shot with an all-star rotating artist lineup, featuring contributions from numerous legendary DC artists rendering their favorite characters across the pages being destroyed. Dave Gibbons' section, which includes the Enemy Ace cameo, is one of the most visually dense sequences in the book. The issue functions as a love letter to DC's entire publishing history, which makes von Hammer's inclusion alongside Sgt. Rock and Tomahawk a deliberate editorial statement about his standing in the DC historical canon.
