Synopsis
In the story, the Silver Age Flash (Barry Allen) time-travels to an ancient, cosmic arena where he discovers five legendary, un-powered warriors from completely different eras of earth's timeline. Enemy Ace appears in Chapter Two in a sequence officially titled "The Warriors from Forever!", though it is known colloquially among comic fans and collectors as the debut of the "Five Warriors from Forever." In this scene, Hans von Hammer has been captured by an alien entity and placed inside a specialized stasis coffin to drain his life force. This panel marks the literal first time Hans von Hammer ever interacted with the mainstream superhero side of the DC Universe. Up until 1972, his stories were completely grounded in realistic, historical fiction over in his war titles. Seeing him standing in a green flight coat next to the Flash officially locked him into the larger cosmic fabric of DC history, directly laying the groundwork for later time-travel crossovers like his encounters with the Swamp Thing and Booster Gold.
