Synopsis
Von Hammer adds to his aerial victories while wrestling with the contradiction at the heart of his existence: he is celebrated by his country for acts that fill him with private dread. The bond between hunter and wolf is explored further as he returns to the Black Forest after another brutal day above the trenches.
Collector Notes
The second Enemy Ace story deepened the psychological portrait begun in #151, establishing the recurring motifs that would define the character: the wolf, the castle, the solitary walk between missions, and the gulf between public glory and private anguish.
