Synopsis
The high-altitude psychological tension intensifies in the character's second historic publishing appearance. Tasked with a grueling and deeply compromised tactical assignment, Hans von Hammer is sent aloft by the German High Command to act as literal 'Flaming Bait' to lure a lethal, hyper-aggressive new Allied fighter squadron into a massive ambush sector. As the Rittmeister deliberately climbs his crimson Fokker Triplane into the kill zone, Robert Kanigher uses the mission structure to examine the fragile nature of trust within a military hierarchy. Meanwhile, on the frozen ground below, the solitary Black Wolf tracks his master's flight path, standing as a silent witness to a man caught between absolute duty and structured self-destruction.
