Von Hammer gathers two of his pilots and tells them the stories of men who flew for the other side, an American in a French squadron, and identical twins fighting on opposite fronts. The framing device is the issue's real subject: what von Hammer chooses to honor in his enemies, and what that honoring costs him.
A framing anthology unusual in the Enemy Ace run, this issue uses von Hammer as narrator rather than protagonist. The two reprinted stories, "Balloon for a Hawk" (from Our Fighting Forces #60) and "Brother Enemy" (from All American Men of War #101), are given new weight by being filtered through his perspective. Kubert's cover is new.
